We Are The In Crowd caused quite a stir in the scene this week, as they began teasing something on their socials. Now, we know exactly what that something is. The pop-rock outfit has confirmed that they’re back – and for one show only.
The band will be returning for Slam Dunk Festival 2020, which hits the U.K. next summer. The festival took to socials to reveal the next round of announcements, which includes WATIC.
Sum 41 will be the festival’s second headliner, joining the previously announced Don Broco. Billy Talent, the Used, the Story So Far, Basement, Grayscale and Dream State were also added as well as Punk In Drublic featuring NOFX and Pennywise. WATIC also isn’t the only one reuniting, with Your Demise making their return as well.
They’ll be joining other previously announced artists including State Champs, Four Year Strong, The Wonder Years, Mayday Parade, Motion City Soundtrack, Knuckle Puck, Ice Nine Kills, Bayside, Issues and Hands Like Houses.
WATIC played their final show on April 2015 at Lebanon Valley College’s ValleyFest, according to setlist.fm. Prior to that, the band’s final full tour was with Don Broco, Bury Tomorrow and Beartooth, which hit the U.K. in February 2015.
Prior to disbanding, WATIC finished up a third album—a follow-up to 2014’s Weird Kids—on May 2015. However, in February 2016, frontwoman Tay Jardine shared she was embarking on a “new journey.”
A couple of weeks later, the band members revealed that they felt that the new record did not accurately represent the sound fans have come to know and love. Rather than disappoint fans and “force” the new music to be something it isn’t, the members then decided to move forward without the We Are The In Crowd label.
If you want to catch this band reuniting for one show, you better move fast to grab your tickets, these ones will sell real fast.
