Troye Sivan wasn’t born in Australia, in fact, he was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. Despite that, we’ve definitely claimed the global pop phenomenon as our own and now a Madame Tussauds Troye Sivan wax figure is officially a thing.
Raised in Perth, Sivan’s career trajectory has only gotten increasingly steeper, especially with the success of his 2020 EP, In A Dream. But if every accolade he’s ever achieved so far was mentioned in this article, we’d all be here a little bit too long.
The latest notch in the pop star’s belt comes courtesy of Madame Tussaud’s in Sydney. To be exact, a confirmation that Sivan will be receiving his very own wax figure at the museum.
News of Troye Sivan and Madame Tussauds working together first broke in February, where we were notified that the figure would be unveiled sometime in this middle of this year.
But, who was to know that the world would have entered a global pandemic, meaning that the masterpiece – like many other things this year was put on hold.
Madame Tussauds Sydney General Manager, Mark Connolly, said, “We’re thrilled to be adding Troye Sivan’s figure to our family. We asked our guests which celebrity they would most like to see in Madame Tussauds Sydney and the overwhelming response was Troye.”
Not only are Sivan fans all over the world ecstatic, Sivan is himself too, mentioning that he enjoyed the process and that it’s an honour to be featured alongside so many of his own idols.
“I had so much fun at the sitting, the team from Madame Tussauds took over 100 measurements, there’s even a dedicated colourist to match skin, eye and hair tones! I can’t wait to see the end result, which is due to be revealed mid this year!”
Perth Now has reported that the Troye Sivan wax figure will be revealed to the public on Friday, December 11th, at Madam Tussaud’s, Sydney.
