It’s hard to fathom the fact that we have to make yet another post about another mass shooting. In what has now been determined as the worst mass shooting in US history, overnight a lone gunman carried out an act of domestic terrorism in Las Vegas resulting in over 50 confirmed deaths, and over 200 injuries.
The incident happened at Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas during a performance by country musician Jason Aldean, around 10pm local time Sunday night. Witnesses stated that the shots in question originated from the balcony on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel and casino, across from the festival.
The music industry is in mourning again, as live music fans are again targeted in an act of terrorism. It’s only been a few months since Ariana Grande’s show in Manchester was the target of an act of terrorism, where 22 fans of Ariana lost their lives.

Genuine question to pro-gun-NRA folks –
If all this violence isn't a gun issue then is there a massive mental health crisis being ignored?

In the aftermath of this horrendous act of terror, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure of the best way to help. Fortunately, there’s a number of ways that you can help, if you’re based in Nevada, or elsewhere. If you’re based in Nevada, there has been a call out for donations of blood and plasma. Fall Out Boy have come through with a list of all blood banks seeking donations of blood and plasma, which you can see below:
Las Vegas, our hearts are with you today ❤️ If you’re in the area, please consider donating blood to help the victims pic.twitter.com/gzOcl2m4ct
— Fall Out Boy (@falloutboy) October 2, 2017
For those not based in Nevada, a Music Cares Fund has been set up to support the ongoing costs to victims, friends and families affected by the massacre. You can find out all the information on how to donate here.
UPDATE 3/10/17: The death toll now stands at over 50, and those injured at over 500 in what is now clearly the largest mass shooting in U.S. history, with the act of domestic terror committed by the now-dead 64-year-old Nevada resident Stephen Paddock.
Paddock took his own life when officers entered his hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel and casino, where they found over 20 weapons including two scoped rifles, News.com.au reports. The retired accountant had no criminal history, and is believed to have worked alone.
