Earlier this week a tribute evening honouring the late associate justice of the Supreme Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, took place online.

The virtual event dubbed “Honor Her Wish” advocates for the dying wish of Ruth Bader Ginsburg — that her seat be filled after the inauguration next January to be acknowledged.

The event saw a number of influential names in the music, entertainment, art and politics worlds join forces to honour her memory, including Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Stacey Abrams, Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, Ayanna Pressley, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Jessica Biel, Teyana Taylor, Regina King, Kristen Bell, Chelsea Handler, Rosario Dawson, Gloria Steinem, Jennifer Carroll Foy, Chelsea Clinton, Shana Knizhnik, Sam Bagenstos and Margo Schlanger, Jon Batiste, Phoebe Bridgers, Sophia Bush, Kathleen Hanna, Resistance Revival Chorus, Aminatou Sow, Michael Stipe and Hayley Williams.

Paramore’s Hayley Williams appeared on the stream as a musical guest, performing her Petals for Armor track ‘Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris’.

“I want to dedicate the song we’re about to play to the women in my family, who overcame sexual and domestic violence,” Williams prefaced her performance with.

“I want to send my heart out, my deepest respect and gratitude, to anyone who fights for the dignity and honor of victims of sexual and domestic violence.”

In other news, rumours that Paramore were gearing up to release new music recently hit a groundswell after the band shared what looks to be a brand-new promo shot to their socials and Spotify profile.

We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves and read too much into what could be nothing, but we want this so badly to mean something.
