Trevor Daniel has just released his brand new song ‘Past Life’ upon the release of his brand new album Nicotine, so we sat down with him to get to know him better.

His last single “Falling” has done almost 1 Billion streams and “Past Life” is the first single from his album.

“Past Life” is co-written & produced by Finneas O’Connell, Billie Eilish’s producer and brother. Trev has a sound to him that will easily make him the next Dominic Fike or Khalid.

Just recently, Alamo Records/Interscope Records artist Trevor Daniel announced the release of his major debut album Nicotine, which comes out today. To celebrate, the songwriter/performer has released a brand new offering to usher in the project’s spectacular release.

‘Past Life’ is a powerful single that teeters on the anthemic scale while keeping in with Trevor’s signature trap-rock vibe. The song was co-written by Grammy-winning songwriter and Billie Eilish collaborator, Finneas O’Connell. A sure-fire hit single, the track breaks at the minute mark to bring in the upbeat synth elements, elevating its melancholic subject matter to new heights.

Tell us about a few of your tracks; their titles and what they’re about?

Most of my tracks are fairly straightforward although when you listen to them as a body of work very contradicting because the things that I write about, I typically think about way too much and I’m back-and-forth on how I feel about it or second guess how I should feel about it

Houston is just home and my friends and family are there plus the food is amazing and something about just being home sometimes helps me gather my thoughts and reassess

Career highlight so far?

There are so many highlights and they come in so many different forms I can’t really pick one besides the obvious with falling blowing up and becoming my first platinum record. But that’s not what I do it for those things are cool perks and really exciting when they happen and our goals of course but I just love the process and creating things

Fave non-music hobby?

Music is definitely my main thing and for a while, I didn’t have any other hobbies because that’s all I wanted to do and honestly it’s still all I want to do but I know that it’s healthy to express myself in other ways so I’ve recently picked up drawing and writing just my thoughts sometimes in the form of poetry sometimes pictures sometimes just letting my mind drift. Like I said it’s fairly new but it’s really exciting and it’s really been helpful to my headspace expressing in multiple ways

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years I’m not really sure where I’ll be everything happens for a reason though so wherever it is I’m meant to be there. but a few goals of mine are to still be with making music, have my own record label and help new artist with the things that I learned developing as an artist myself from our perspective and how we turn to think about things and help make it easier to put a lot of things into perspective that I know a lot of us find hard.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
