Claudia Valentina is only 19 years old but she’s already shaping up to be the next big thing in pop.
Like most kids, Claudia wanted to be a singer and songwriter when she was a kid. But whereas those are just dreams for many, she went and actually did it.
Now at the age of 19, the rising pop sensation has just dropped her debut self-titled EP and showed the world that there’s a new star with a booming voice on the block.
With her career on the rise, we decided to have a chat with Claudia Valentina as part of our popular Get To Know series in order to get a sense on who this ambitious young woman is.
How would you describe your music to your grandma?
I mean it would be awkward to explain to them. I would keep it brief and say pop music rather than bad bitch, little bit sexy attitude tracks [laughs].
Tell us about a few of your tracks; their titles and what they’re about?
The EP I have coming out has some of my favourite tracks on it and I’m so excited to let the world hear it finally!
A song called ‘4.15’ is about a booty call that no matter how hard you try not to answer, you can’t help yourself.
Also a song called ‘If I’m Being Honest’ which is super close to my heart will be on the EP. It’s very conversational filled with brutal honesty which I love.

What do you love about your hometown?
So much I wouldn’t know where to start. I don’t get to go home [to Guernsey] very often any more but every time I do I’m reminded of how much I miss it.
Other than the fact that it’s so quiet and chilled which is such a nice change from living in a city, the people I grew up with are always so supportive of my music and it means a lot to see them all when I go back.
Career highlight so far?
Another one where I don’t know where to start! It feels like everyday another crazy exciting thing happens. It’s a constant rollercoaster that definitely has its highs and lows.
One of the best moments so far would be signing my deal in New York. Always dreamed of that moment and it was even better living it.
Fave non-music hobby?
Urrrmmm… Don’t really have many to be honest. If I get a day off I’m normally catching up on sleep and having a bubble bath. Even if I’m just chatting having a coffee I’m talking about music.
What’s on your dream rider?
Dream music collaboration?
I’m obsessed with Rosalia so that would be a dream one day. She blows me away with her melody’s and has always been a massive inspiration for me. Also Party Next Door and Drake but I’m gunna need to work my way up to that…

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I don’t set myself small dreams and in 10 years I plan to be doing everything I’ve set out to achieve. It’s kind of a life or death mentally I have around succeeding and has always been that way.
What’s your go-to karaoke song?
I have actually never done karaoke! That’s gunna be on my list of nights out when all this coronavirus stuff is in the past. I’d say a bit of old school RhiRhi. I sing ‘What Now’ in the car all the time. It’s my go to drive-sing-cry song.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Can’t remember who told me this or if I made it up in my head but what I do whether it’s in a meeting or in the studio is pretend in my head that I’ve already made it and achieved everything I’ve always wanted.
It gives you an inner confidence and even if it’s not real it still puts you in that frame of mind where no one can fuck with you.
What’s one obsession you have that no one would guess after listening to your music?
I don’t think I’ve written about how much I love truffle fries in any of my songs. But yeah that would be the current obsession.
