We’re all desperately hoping that Gerard Way and Billie Eilish will one day collaborate and everything will be beautiful and nothing will hurt. For the meantime, this is the closest we’re going to get.

Two weeks ago, Fender revealed that they had collaborated with Billie Eilish on a signature ukulele. The ukulele is described as “a bold take on the four-string classic,” with a built-in preamp and a body embellished with Eilish’s signature “blohsh” symbol.

“The ukulele was the first instrument I learned,” Eilish shared at the time of the announcement. “It’s where I started writing, and where I found new ways of writing that I had never tried before. It inspires a different kind of writing. The rules of the ukulele are simple, and basically, if you know three chords you can play almost any song.”

Gerard Way and his family picked up the new Billie Eilish ukulele. Way took to Instagram to share that Fender’s Head of Signature Artists Michael Schulz gifted him with the new Eilish signature.

“So one of my friends, favorite people in the world, and patron of the arts, Michael Schulz, worked with his company @fender to collab with very cool musician @billieeilish on her rad looking and sounding ukulele,” he wrote. “They were kind enough to send this to B and Linds and myself so I wanted to post a picture of it in our garden.”

Way admitted he hasn’t explored the ukulele too much, but is interested in using the instrument to record his new song ‘Ukulele Songs’.

“It has a really interesting pattern on it,” he shared. “And you can plug it in, so now I’m going to plug this into a fuzz pedal and see what happens. I may report back with my findings. It’s fun to play. I don’t normally play ukulele, but I did in fact recently write a song called Ukulele Songs, which is about ukulele songs. I may share that. I’m not sure, but if I record it, I will use this ukulele.”
