The remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 has been a bloody godsend, and now some legend has paid tribute to blink-182’s Tom Delonge.

As some of us continue to endure lockdown and others battle to come up with activities that observe social distancing rules, Pro Skater was re-released on PS4, XBox One and Windows.

Now, as Alternative Press points out, a Reddit user named crimson_APD uploaded their creation: Tom Delonge as the character ‘Boomer’ from blink-182’s official video for ‘First Date’.

If you’ll recall, the 2001 video for ‘First Date’ is set in 1974, and stars Tom as ‘Boomer’, as well as Mark Hoppus as ‘Spaulding’ and Travis Barker as ‘Travis’.

The clip begins with ‘Boomer’ chatting to ‘Spaulding’ about accidentally kissing his own brother at a party, and the rest of it is just the three characters getting up to no good.

“I give you Boomer from blink-182’s First Date music vid,” posted crimsom_APD.

To be honest it’s an absolute killer version of the Tom Delonge character, and a great reminder that Pro Skater isn’t just about pulling rails and kickflips, but about how sick the customizable characters are.

There’s plenty of other stuff about the games to get music fans excited too, with the remastered version coming with the original soundtracks too.

So yep, if you haven’t got your hands on the game yet, it has been confirmed that those iconic tracks by the Dead Kennedys, Rage Against The Machine, Primus, Papa Roach, and Goldfinger all feature.

As for Delonge, well earlier this year he was speaking with Rolling Stone about UFOs (because of course he was), and he once again teased the possibility of a reunion with blink.

“Everyone wants to know, ‘are you guys gonna play again?’ Yeah, of course we are. We just gotta figure out the timing, how it works for everybody,” DeLonge said.
