With Evermore, Taylor Swift has become the only artist in history to debut atop both major Billboard charts simultaneously twice.
As has become the norm with Taylor Swift, each one of her major releases is accompanied by groundbreaking records. Evermore, her surprise album and sister-album to her last release Folklore, is no different. With the album’s track ‘Willow’ hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Taylor Swift has now become the only artist in history to debut atop both major Billboard charts simultaneously, twice.
Currently, Swift’s album Evermore is also sitting atop the Billboard 200 chart.
She achieved this feat once earlier with Folklore. Shortly after release, Folklore debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart, with ‘Cardigan’ reigning the Hot 100. Safe to say, what a grand closing for the year.
Swift reacted to the news on her social media in a short statement, saying: “Guys. Seriously. Thank you for doing this.”

Swift’s massive achievements show no signs of stopping. Earlier this week, Billboard announced that all 15 tracks from Evermore had charted on the Hot 100.
Swift, of course, is in great company — the only other act to ever debut atop both major Billboard charts have been BTS. Earlier this year, their album BE: Deluxe Edition went to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, while the album’s title track ‘Life Goes On’, topped the Hot 100. Swift, however, is the only one to achieve this feat twice.
Swift dropped Evermore as a surprise just shy of her 30th birthday.
“To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs. To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in.” she wrote in an announcement on social media.
