K-pop legends SHINee confirmed to delighted fans that they will make a comeback with new music in February 2021.

SHINee’s back! Yes, after two (almost three) long, long years of waiting, the K-pop legends have confirmed that they will be back with new music in February 2021. This will be the group’s first release since the 2018’s The Story of Light: Epilogue.

The group’s agency also released a short statement regarding the same: “SHINee is preparing a new album. The comeback schedule will be announced once it is confirmed.”

The group teased a comeback last week at SM Entertainment’s SMTOWN LIVE Culture Humanity livestream concert. In the first hour of broadcast, fans were treated to a montage of SHINee’s greatest hits, followed by a short message: “2021: SHINee is back.”

Three of the group’s four members (originally five: member Jonghyun died by suicide in 2017) enlisted in the military shortly after the released of their 2018 album The Story of Light: Epilogue.

After nearly two years of serving, Key, Minho, and Onew were discharged earlier this year, which gave the internet laughs and sniffles at the same time. Taemin held the fort down with solo releases and SuperM in the meantime. ICYMI, his track ‘Criminal’ was on Don’t Bore Us’ list of best K-pop tracks of the year.

February cannot come sooner!
