Singer-songwriters Sarah Barrios and Eric Nam have teamed up for a new single ‘Have We Met Before?’, dropping April 30th

Here’s a little something that the romantics at heart will love. Singer-songwriters Eric Nam and Sarah Barrio have teamed up for a new single ‘Have We Met Before?’. Both Nam and Barrio took to their Instagram to announce the release earlier today, which arrives next week on Friday, April 30th.

3 years of knowing each other and we finally made a song!!!” wrote Barrios, referring to Nam’s 2018 single ‘I Don’t Miss You’, which she co-wrote.

On this one, Barrios shares writing credit for ‘Have We Met Before?’ with Vaultboy. Nam and Barrios both feature on the vocals.

In a statement, she describes the song as the embodiment of timeless love, captured in a connection between two strangers who feel like they’ve always known each other: “I really wanted to capture the idea of two people being so meant for each other that in every lifetime, in every universe or alternate reality, they seem to always find one another and fall in love. There’s just something really beautiful about a love like that.”

For Nam, the song represents the joy of human connection (the irony is not lost, with most of us holed up for more than a year now thanks to the pandemic).

“The beauty of the human experience is that we come across so many people in our lives, and every once in a while, we find someone who we connect with and understand in so many ways it’s uncanny. In a time and age where it feels as if we come across so much unfortunate news, I hope this song leaves listeners optimistic about connecting with new people.” he says in the statement.

‘Have We Met Before?’ arrives on April 30th.
