You don’t meet many casual BTS fans. The South Korean septet have become the biggest big boy in the world over the last seven years. But are you a true BTS fan? Take our quiz to find out.

Although BTS have visited Australia just a couple of times in their seven-year history, four of the band’s singles have achieved ARIA Gold certification. This is pretty crazy considering ‘MIC Drop’ is the only one of the four to feature any substantial English vocals.

English lines are scattered throughout ‘Fake Love’ ‘DNA’ and ‘Boy With Luv’ – Halsey sings the chorus hook on the latter – but BTS have established a global audience while sticking to their guns and singing/rapping in their native South Korean.

Well, that’s not entirely true. Since as far back as 2014 they’ve also been producing Japanese versions of their studio albums. It’s been a tremendously successful enterprise for the band, with both 2016’s Youth and 2018’s Face Yourself topping the Japanese charts. The latter also yielded four back-to-back platinum singles on Japan’s Oricon Singles Charts.

But if you’re a real BTS fan, you’ll know that not all members can actually speak Japanese. Can you name the one group member who is fluent in the language? Maybe this one sounds like child’s play, but removed from any BTS paraphernalia, are you confident you could name all seven group members?

BTS has its roots in a hip hop project started by RM back in 2010. Rapping remains a core element of the band’s music, and they’ve even collaborated with American rappers Desiigner and the late Juice WRLD. But outside of hip hop, what are the band’s main influences?

The initials BTS represent the Korean expression Bangtan Sonyeondan. But do you know what it translates to? Show us what you’re made of in the quiz below!
