My Chemical Romance and their generation-defining 2006 odyssey Welcome To The Black Parade is set to receive the Funko Pop! treatment.
The forces of Funko and My Chemical Romance have collaborated since 2015. With the cult figurines previously paying homage to the band’s Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, Danger Days and The Black Parade eras. Rumours that Funko were set to re-explore Black Parade territory reached a groundswell earlier this year.
As Alternative Press report, those rumours have merit. This week, a taste of the forthcoming collaboration was unveiled with a figurine immortalising the skeletal parade leader from the album’s front cover, Pepe. The vinyl figurine depicts Pepe clad in his iconic Black Parade uniform, band hand and conductor staff.
There’s been no official word as to when the new collection will be fully unveiled and ready to purchase, but we’re manifesting a Funko! box under this years Christmas tree.

In other news, it looks as though My Chemical Romance are teasing a makeup collaboration with HipDot. Earlier this week, the band took to social media to share a mysterious video teaser, alluding that something is coming.
The video aesthetically recalls the band’s Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge era. A white rose is set alight, whilst ‘Give ‘Em Hell Kid’ plays in the background. The post was solely captioned, “eyes.”
HipDot, who have previously collaborated with musicians like Kesha Rose, shared the exact same video. Captioned, “Here’s a hint…COMING SOON.”
It doesn’t take Hercule Poirot-like skills of deduction to put two and two together. If this does come into fruition, I may have to throw my aesthetic plans of prairie girl summer out the window and lean into a prep-goth renaissance. Tis the season to box dye our hair black and lean into nostalgia.
