For reasons unclear, folks have taken to Twitter to spearhead a new trend in which they are blaming Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco for… literally everything.

Over the past few hours a new movement has unfurled online that has seen a spike of tweets from burgeoning internet trolls blame Urie for everything from global warming, to The Beatles breaking up, to Toys “R” Us closing, to the coronavirus pandemic.

It’s not clear where this stemmed from and I don’t think I’ll be gleaning any information that offers an ounce of clarity, but it’s a delight to behold.

My theory is that it stemmed from the below tweet from a Panic! fan who merely tweeted “normalize blaming brendon urie for things he didn’t do.”

The tweet sparked over 700 quote tweets in which people have accused Urie of a litany of indiscretions that he didn’t commit, as well as a slew of copycat tweets. Make of it what you will:
