Blink-182’s blistering new song ‘Quarantine’ is here to make living in lockdown a bit more delightful. We can’t go outside, but we can listen to some dang good music.
Back in April, pop-punk outfit delighted us all by stating that they’d be dropping some new music “in the next two weeks.”
In a the with Spin, drummer Travis Barker dished out a bit of the details surrounding his activity in quarantine, and he’d been ridiculously busy.
“I’m spoiled,” he began. “This week, Brian Lee and I produced a Blink song and recorded it. Finished three jxdn songs; finished an acoustic MGK song and reworked three other songs on the album; played on a Yungblud song; co-produced and played drums on a Steve Aoki song featuring Trevor Daniels and MGK. So it’s my dream job.”
Of course, he couldn’t just rattle off the news about a new Blink-182 song and get away with it, so when the interviewer asked for a bit more information, he let out just a blip of detail:
“We actually have a song called ‘Quarantine’ that will be out in the next two weeks. Really excited about it.”
Well, it’s now August and all of us Blink-182 fans have been on pins waiting for their song ‘Quarantine’ to finally drop. Yesterday, the collective teased that they would “release this song Friday” if their Instagram post got “100 likes.”
Well, as it continued to collect likes, many wondered if the band would be keeping their promise of finally dropping the new tune.
Well, with a staggering 115,000 likes amassed, Blink-182 kept their promise, and the new lockdown tune ‘Quarantine’ is here.
Boasting every single thought we’ve already experienced in lockdown, it shines as a beacon of frustration, begging for this era of social distancing to end.
