Mark Hoppus (Blink 182) and Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low) are kinda the gatekeepers of pop-punk as we know it, with their bands essentially forming the backbone of the sounds we’ve come to love.

Heck, the bands even cover each other sometimes.

It’s pretty cool to here then that the two of them have announced a new project together, turning their collective genius to new music.

Going by the name of ‘Simple Creatures’, the two have dropped their debut single Drug, along with one hell of a trippy music video….and it’s catchy as hell.

The song kicks off with Hoppus dropping some sweet, sweet rhymes over a great beat, before Gaskarth brings in a huge chorus, feat. one of the best ‘nah nah nah’ hooks you’ll hear this week.

With a comic-book style lyric video to accompany the track, there’s no excuse to not knowing every word of this jam by the end of the day. Check it out below.

“‘Drug’ is always the first song we play people when introducing them to Simple Creatures, so it only makes sense that it’s the first single” said Hoppus of the release.

Taking to his Instagram, Gaskarth said of the project that he and Hoppus “have been quietly making music together for a little while now”, which makes us pretty excited to hear where the rest of this project will go.

It’s been a particularly creative few months for Hoppus, who lent his talents to our very own Amy Shark’s debut album Night Thinker last year, which was the latest in a long list of collabs over the years that we’ve tried to keep up with.
