Billie Eilish is no stranger to breaking records – she currently holds the title for the youngest solo artist in history to win a Grammy. Now, the pop singer can add an Instagram record to her resume as her latest post surpassed one million likes in a mere five minutes, the fastest picture in history to achieve so on the platform.

Eilish debuted the photo of her blonde bangs on Instagram just six hours ago and at this current moment, has a whopping 13.7 million likes on the photo. To put it in perspective, that’s more likes than the entire population of Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane combined. Feeling insignificant? Yep, me too.

A recent study has shown that the average number of likes an Instagram post receives is 1261. So, the fact that Billie Eilish received a whopping 1 million likes in just five minutes shows just how popular she is. Eilish even acknowledged the achievement in her Instagram stories.

Numbers aside, Eilish, who typically sports her trademark black and neon green, looks absolutely banging with her new bombshell blonde locks.

She first teased of her new locks in a video of her flipping her hair back while smirking at the camera, and then posted of photo to her grid of her bright blonde bangs captioned “pinch me”.

Likes don’t lie, but her fans are also absolutely here for it in her comments which has (unsurprisingly) blown up with compliments.

“WE ARE SCREAMING,” posted one fan.

“HELP YOU’RE SO GORGEOUS IT HURTS,” said another fan, and caps lock seems to be the theme of the day.

“HELP ME BREATHEEEEEEEE,” one more enthusiastic fan added.

While the jury is still out on whether Eilish has actually bleached her hair or if she’s wearing a wig, signs point to the hair do being a permanent change. In December the 19 year old pop singer hinted at a new hair style in her Instagram stories.

“I have a fun story to tell you, but first: f—k you guys. Stop making fun of me,” she said on her Instagram Story at the time. “My god. I’m f—king making you an album. I will not put it out if you keep making fun of my hair. Shut up!,” she told the camera.

“I’m changing it after the doc comes out. It’s going to be the end of an era. I’m gonna give you a new era. I have an announcement to make. I got some s–t to put out.”

Which brings us to the question – with some new blonde bangs ticked off the bucket list, does this mean a new Billie Eilish album is on the way?
