Here at DBU, we’re constantly on the lookout for acts on the verge of total worldwide domination. Whether it’s a new pop punk band cutting their teeth touring around the country, sharing their fresh take on hooky riffs and bunce-worthy choruses or a new alt-pop superstar on the rise, our ears prick up at the sound of new voices and creative takes on our favourite genres.

We’ve compiled a list of our favourite up and coming acts who we reckon will be hitting festival mainstages, selling out headline tours and influencing the next gen of musos before you know it.

This week our feature artist is Slowly Slowly – a blistering emo band hailing from Melbourne who’ve just signed with Aussie champs of all things punk, UNFD. The band have just released a new single ‘Alchemy’, featuring a waterfall style guitar riff over a pulsating instrumental, driven by one the year’s biggest hooks yet. They combine the angst of early-00s emo acts like Jimmy Eat World with the hooky stylings of modern pop punk – and their live show is a forest fire of fun and raw emotion.

This week, we’re spinning acts like Slowly Slowly, Columbus, Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly – check out the entire playlist below!
