Charli XCX, who previously worked with Selena Gomez on ‘Same Old Love’ is definitely open to another collaboration and fans are in a tailspin.

Charli XCX, aka Charlotte Emma Aitchison recently released  a remix ‘Xxoplex,’ a fun, poppy EDM track with A. G. Cook for his upcoming Apple vs 7G album. The two Brits just make it work wonderfully together.

The Boom Clap singer was already on Twitter answering fan questions, like it was some kind of open Q and A.

When a fan asked why some songs weren’t released, she dived into the songwriting process.

“I write so many songs, just bcoz theyre created into existence doesn’t mean i want them to be officially released. there’s trial & error when i write. i try to capture a feeling, sometimes it feels close but not perfect. unreleased songs are a process to get to the released songs.” (sic).

In the process of getting to the released song, in 2015 we were graced by ‘Same Old Love,’ initially pitched to Rihanna but taken up by Selena Gomez, who was praised for her emotional, raspy vocals.

As Charli told MTV, “This [particular] song was something I had written and she loved it and felt it related to her, she had such a high profile relationship [with Justin Bieber], which was all over the press. It felt very real coming from her, and I think a lot of the audience could really connect because of what had been going on. It was cool that she really brought that song to life.”

It was, Charli, it was, and as exciting as her upcoming Spanish album will be, the cherry on top would be another collaboration with you.

And here is the confirmation:

There’s been no word yet from Selena (at least not directly), but already we can feel the love, as seen in this sweet throwback pic.
