Cardi B has hit back at a conservative commentator for saying the world needs less of her and more of Melania Trump.
DeAnna Lorraine, whose other claim to fame was losing spectacularly to Nancy Pelosi in the 2020 California primary election, took to Twitter to blow hot air during the recent Republican National Convention just after Melania finished her speech: “America needs far more women like Melania Trump and far less like Cardi B,” she tweeted.
Cardi’s response was swift and biting. She tweeted “Didn’t she used to sell that Wap?”, referring to the First Lady’s past as a model.
Lorraine wasn’t quite done though. “No, that’s a total & complete lie,” she returned. “What’s not a lie is that you are absolutely destroying America’s youth with your lyrics and should be ashamed of yourself.” It’s really lovely to see politicians ignoring the real problems plaguing the United States to focus instead on a fun hip-hop anthem.
Cardi B later tweeted a censored, topless photo of Melania, captioning it: “This pic giving me “ yea you fuckin wit some wet ass pussy “ vibes …just sayin.”
The photo of Melania was taken when she was just 25 during a shoot for French magazine Max. Her husband Donald Trump, who she met in 1998, called them “very fashionable” when they resurfaced in 2007.
We think Lorraine might just be jealous that she didn’t write ‘WAP’ because it’s an instant classic. Cardi’s song, which also features fellow hot rapper Megan Thee Stallion, has topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the past two weeks.
It’s amazingly been viewed over 140 million views on YouTube, spawned a thousand dancing TikTok imitators, and basically broke the internet. Go on, Lorraine, stop pitting women against other women and make your own TikTok version of ‘WAP’.
