BTS took another big step towards US domination with their rendition of ‘Dynamite’ on America’s Got Talent.

The Korean group took to the NBC show’s stage on Wednesday, September 16th, and delivered a typically energetic and charismatic performance.

The band – composed of Jungkook, RM, V, Jimin, J-Hope, Suga, and Jin – seemed eager to impress their stateside audience with their fashion choices. The boys rocked the hell out of old-school 70’s clothes. There were blue jeans aplenty. There were even suave cowboy boots.

The band also danced their way through a stereotypical American backdrop featuring a gas station, movie theatre, and diner. Way to know your audience, guys.

The performance allowed each member to really flourish and show their singing chops. It was a spectacular performance that lit up the America’s Got Talent semi-final.

Famous fans were quick to respond. Late night host Jimmy Fallon tweeted his appreciation, declaring BTS’s performance as “flawless.”

‘Dynamite’ was a smash hit even before the live performance. The song debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the group’s first chart-topper in the US.

The achievement was made extra special as it made BTS the first all-South Korean act to top the Billboard Hot 100.

‘Dynamite’ also debuted atop the Billboard Digital Song Sales chart, selling 265,000 downloads—the biggest pure sales week since Taylor Swift’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ launched with 353,000 downloads in 2017.

In our own ARIA charts, the single made it to number two. Considering it was the group’s first English-language single, we think that’s pretty decent!

Earlier this week, BTS released a ten-minute trailer for BTS Universe Story, an “interactive social game,” and Suga was featured on a collaboration with pop singer Max, whose new single, ‘Blueberry Eyes’, debuted at number one on the iTunes pop chart and number two on the overall US chart.

BTS’ upcoming concert film, Break the Silence: The Movie, is slated to hit the US on Thursday, September 24th. Maybe they’ll slow down in 2021. Probably not though!
