Billie Eilish has reportedly been granted a five-year civil harassment restraining order against a stalker who found out her home address.
As reported by E! News, Eilish obtained the order after alleging that the stalker camped outside a school across the road from her family home and sat on a fence to look into her house. On top of that, they also reportedly mimed a throat-slitting gesture towards Eilish.
In legal documents obtained by The Blast, Eilish said the alleged activity caused her “emotional injury including fear for [her] safety, fear for the safety of [her] family, and loss of [her] sense of peace and tranquillity and security in [her] home and personal space resulting from the repeated instances of harassment”.
She added: “I no longer feel safe going outside my home and enjoying basic physical exercise in my neighbourhood, as [the stalker] could attempt to approach and hurt me … Every time I see [them] I just want to scream.”
According to NME, this isn’t the first time Billie Eilish has been a victim of harassment, as last year she also obtained a restraining order against someone who trespassed in her family home several times.
The latest restraining order comes off the back of the release of Eilish’s documentary, The World’s a Little Blurry.
Within the doco, Eilish opened up about feeling “broken” as a result of a combination of mental and physical health issues.
“My body is always going to be broken, even if I heal it… it will have been broken a million times,” she said.
“If something breaks a bunch of times it’s broken. Even if you fix it, it’s still been broken.”
