A more up-tempo number, ‘All I Needed’ exudes as much raw passion as the track that preceded it, and not without reason: impressively, the powerful vocal solo in ‘All I Needed’ was completely improvised in the moment – lyrics and melody included. ‘All I Needed’ is the kind of jazz song even non-jazz lovers can get down to. It features the perfect combination of fast-hitting notes that make you want to wobble your side to side and just roll with it.

Anyone can tell you that when it comes to quick-witted tracks performed with the tongue firmly in cheek, Paul McDermott is something of an Aussie icon. On 'I'VE SEEN THE FUTURE, AND YOU'RE NOT IN IT', McDermott uses his stellar voice and sharp songwriting to pen a small handful of tracks which have appeared in his recent 'Plus One' show, along with a more recent COVID-related track. Of course, it seems he couldn't have picked a better release date, with opener "No Singing No Dancing" name-checking now-former Sydney Premier Gladys Berejiklian. Considering the EP was recorded against Sydney's latest lockdown, it seems as though McDermott might have been onto something when it came to the EP's title.
